The Florida Panthers are dealing with injuries in their crease, having lost both starting goaltender Roberto Luongo and backup Al Montoya against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.
Good news for the team had supposedly arrived Thursday with veteran defenseman Willie Mitchell, who missed the last 15 games with an upper-body injury, returning to the lineup against the Dallas Stars, according to Harvey Fialkov of the Sun Sentinel.
However, Mitchell's return was put on hold when it was reported that he was diagnosed with flu-like symptoms.
The 37-year-old has five points in 49 games.
