One great passes another.

Iverson secured his total over parts of 14 seasons in the NBA, while James topped Iverson's figure in just his 12th campaign. James also accomplished the feat in 17,630 field goal attempts - 2,274 fewer than Iverson.

Coming into Sunday's contest, James boasted career averages of 27.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game. Having already captured two titles and four MVP awards, there's no telling how many records James can break.
James is now within 200 points of another legend - former teammate Ray Allen - for 21st in scoring. If he continues at this season's pace of 26 points per game, James has a shot at passing Patrick Ewing for 20th before the playoffs start.
