Watch out, Golden State. Draymond Green's hometown team may come calling when he becomes a restricted free agent this summer.

Green is very interested in pursuing an offer sheet with the Detroit Pistons this offseason, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. Green hails from nearby Saginaw, Mich.

Without the complexities of the salary cap, the Warriors would obviously love to retain Green, as he's become a tremendously useful role player this season. Green's boxscore averages of 11.1 points and 8.3 rebounds aren't eye-catching, but his hustle, shooting ability and defensive versatility has made him a core component of the Warriors' tremendous success.

Problems arise, however, when salary implications are factored in. The Warriors are capped out for the foreseeable future and, barring a trade to shed David Lee or Andre Iguodala's cumbersome salaries, retaining Green while avoiding the luxury tax will be tricky.

Additionally, Wojnarowski notes the Warriors are hesitant to move Lee as they fear it would affect team chemistry. Presumably, those same concerns exist with Iguodala as well.

The Pistons can offer Green a maximum deal should Greg Monroe leave in free agency.
