LeBron James elected as vice president of Players Association
LeBron James is one step closer to actualizing his nickname of The King.
James was elected to be the vice president of the National Basketball Players' Association (NBPA) on Friday, as first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. The move was made with strong backing by president Chris Paul, notes Wojnarowski.
The move shifts James into a senior leadership position, as noted by Wojnarowski. Players voted on Friday afternoon in New York City. The decision was made official by NBPA executive director Michele Roberts.

The NBPA was established in 1954 to promote and protect the players' interests. Currently, Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul serves as president, while six players share the title of vice president.
The players have the option to opt out of the current collective bargaining agreement in 2016 and with the NBA having signed a new TV deal, James will have the chance to impact the league in a very significant way.
