VIDEO: Nick Young explains why he's afraid of dolphins

Mark J. Rebilas / USA TODAY Sports

We know by now that Nick Young isn't afraid of the spotlight, or pressure, or taking big shots. We know he's not afraid of Kobe or Magic, and certainly not Steven Adams.

So what is Nick Young afraid of?

Apparently, at least one species of marine mammal.

Huh.

Young was, naturally, asked to clear the air about this alleged phobia. He then went on to explain the story at the root of it all, that one time a dolphin tried to kill him and steal his girlfriend while he and Azalea were vacationing in Cabo.

"He was playing with everybody else, doing what dolphins do - the 'ack ack' and all that," Young said. "It was my time to ride the dolphin. For some reason, he took me all the way to the bottom. He was trying to drown me. But I saw it happening so I jumped out of the water and took off the little life vest and threw off my little water shoes and stayed outside.

"He went straight down. He was trying to kill me."

Asked why the dolphin would've had reason to go after him, Young answered: "I think he was trying to get on Iggy. He was a little friendly, kissing her and stuff. He was trying to take my woman."

We'd be afraid, too.
