NBA All-Star Weekend Lineups

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

NBA All-Star Weekend is just around the corner, with just a week of games left on the schedule before the league takes a week off to rest and showcase its best and most exciting players.

Emanating from New York, both the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets are official hosts for the weekend, with the Knicks getting Sunday's All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden and Brooklyn's Barclays Center holding All-Star Saturday Night. The weekend kicks off Friday with the celebrity game and the revamped rookie-sophomore game.

Here is the schedule of events and the announced participants for each.

All-Star Saturday Night, 8:30 p.m. ET, TNT

The NBA has made tweaks to most of the Saturday events this year, looking to make the team shooting challenge and skills challenge a little more entertaining, while returning the dunk contest to its previous format. The league also loaded up the 3-point contest, making it perhaps Saturday's marquee event.

Shooting Stars

Can anyone unseat two-time defending champion Chris Bosh? No, they can't. Flanked by Dominique Wilkins and Swin Cash, Bosh will face stiff competition from the Curry family, Anthony Davis's replacement in Paul Millsap and an interesting Westbrook-Hardaway combination. Read more.

RESULT: Team Bosh wins 3rd consecutive NBA All-Star Shooting Stars competition

TEAM TEAM BOSH TEAM CURRY TEAM MILLSAP TEAM WESTBROOK
NBA Legend Dominique Wilkins Dell Curry Scottie Pippen Penny Hardaway
WNBA Star Swin Cash Sue Bird Elena Delle Donne Tamika Catchings
NBA Star Chris Bosh Stephen Curry Paul Millsap Russell Westbrook

Skills Challenge

Damian Lillard's an All-Star, rightfully so, but the two-time defending (co-)champion won't be putting his title on the line. Instead, 2014 co-champ Trey Burke defends his half of the crown against an East-heavy crop of guards. Read more.

Three-Point Contest

Yes. Yes. Yes! This year's field is absolutely insane, with Marco Belinelli standing almost no chance of defending his crown against a murderers' row of all-time great shooters. It won't go on last, but this may be the main event. Read more.

RESULT: Steph Curry wins NBA All-Star Three-Point Shootout

PLAYER 3PM 3PT%
Kyle Korver 149 53.2
Stephen Curry 147 40.4

Klay Thompson 145 44.6
Marco Belinelli 39 38.2
Kyrie Irving 100 40.8

Slam Dunk Contest

Oh, right, this is why the shooters don't go on last. Save for the 2014 team-based debacle, the dunk contest is always entertaining, whether curmudgeons pine for the glory days of the competition or not. It's pure, unbridled fun, and this year's class has several unique players that could be primed to do some truly original dunks. Read more.

NBA D-League All-Star Game, 2:30 p.m. ET, NBA TV

Before the established stars get going, the best of the D-League have their chance to shine. There are a lot of names in the game that should be familiar to NBA fans, and it's usually an entertaining affair. Well worth your time on a Sunday afternoon in February.

NBA All-Star Game, 8:30 p.m. ET, TNT

Steph Curry led the way in voting as the fans chose the starters, three Hawks were among the reserves selected by coaches, DeMarcus Cousins will replace the injured Kobe Bryant at the commissioner's behest and nobody has any say in halftime performer Ariana Grande. It will be light on defense, it will be heavy on highlights and it will be a lot of fun.
