The super fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is on the verge of being finalized.

Top Rank fight promoter Bob Arum told George Willis of the New York Post on Friday that the fight is in the final stages of being made a reality.

"Everybody is doing the right thing," Arum said. "We're looking to complete the paperwork. Everything is moving in the right direction. Hopefully, the next couple of days it will get done.”

The fight has been agreed to, according to a Friday night report from TMZ Sports, with a formal announcement expected in "the coming days." The report suggests a bout on May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is a possibility.

It was reported earlier in the month that Pacquiao had agreed to a fight and was waiting on approval from Mayweather. The two sides spoke during halftime of a Miami Heat game Tuesday, with both fighters meeting after to go over terms for the proposed fight.

"I think it helped a lot because we were all putting papers together, and there was still a question as to whether Floyd really wanted to do the fight or not," Arum said. "Based on the meeting with Pacquiao in the hotel suite, Manny and (Pacquiao adviser) Michael Koncz were convinced Floyd absolutely wants to do the fight."

Willis notes that the remaining issues concern network involvement, but believes it's nothing that could potentially kill the deal.
