Report: Andre Johnson not open to taking pay cut to stay with Texans
Thomas Campbell / USA TODAY Sports
Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson categorically denied a report that he was willing to take a pay cut in order to stay with the team that drafted him.
"I don’t know where that story came from. I didn’t make that statement." Johnson told Mark Berman of FOX 26. "I never made any statements about no pay cut. Nobody ever approached me about a pay cut. I'll cross that bridge whenever it comes."
While Andre Johnson's uncle is quoted as saying Andre wouldn't mind taking a pay cut, Andre says the 2 have never discussed it.
