Report: Canucks' Kassian returns to the ice; targets post-Christmas return

Vancouver Canucks third-line right wing Zack Kassian took to the ice for an optional skate on Saturday, sporting full equipment. While that would suggest that Kassian's return to the lineup is imminent, don't expect him back before Christmas.

Kassian, 24, sustained a broken finger in a game on Nov. 25 against the New Jersey Devils. He hasn't played since.

The underachieving power forward has managed two goals and five total points in 17 games this season. Although he's struggled to produce offensively, Kassian has become a bona fide play-driver in a supporting role - something the recently struggling Canucks have missed in his absence.
