AHL website briefly lists Oilers' Marincin as recalled from Oklahoma City

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

With another nightmare start to the regular season under-way, the Edmonton Oilers are searching for solutions and are desperate to stabilize their back-end. To that end, the team apparently recalled defender Martin Marincin from the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League (AHL), according to the AHL's transaction page.

The transaction page was later edited to remove the Marincin recall, so his status is in some doubt. The team hasn't commented on the issue.

Marincin, 22, acquitted himself well in 44 games with the Oilers last season. Based on the way the club's other defenders have played so far, he very probably should have made the team out of training camp.
