Report: 'Word's spreading' that Jaguars will take Manziel at No. 3
With only one day remaining until the draft, the rumors are starting to spin out of control. The latest? The Jacksonville Jaguars plan to select Johnny Manziel with the No. 3 overall pick.
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle has the scoop:
Manziel is unquestionably the hottest name at the moment. The St. Louis Rams have hinted they are considering selecting Manziel at No. 2, but many people believe it's a smokescreen intended to convince a team to trade up.
It's entirely possible the Jaguars are also crafting a smokescreen here. There's little reason to reveal their intent to select Manziel at this stage other than to entice a team to trade up. Then again, Manziel does seem like a great fit for a Jaguars team that needs a quarterback (and an injection of excitement).
Strap yourselves in, folks. It's going to be a wild 24 hours.
