Durant's MVP acceptance speech is the kindest speech of all time (VIDEO)
That whole Kevin Durant is not nice campaign? Yeah, that's pretty much in the trash now.
Durant accepted his 2014 NBA Most Valuable Player award on Tuesday and, as you'd expect given Durant's track record, was incredibly gracious and thoughtful in his acceptance speech.
Among the highlights: Durant tearing up to start the speech, telling Kendrick Perkins "I hated you before you got here" and then calling him "one of the best teammates I've ever had," which actually made Perkins smile (it is possible, it turns out), and him thanking just about every single person on the roster and staff.
And, of course, telling Russell Westbrook he loves him and saying his mother is "the real MVP."
It was truly, honestly touching and speaks to what a terrific person Durant appears to be.
Oh, but he did have one Jordan-esque shot to fire off:
KD: "I want to thank The Oklahoman for calling me 'Mr. Unreliable.'"
