Steve Novak takes deeper shots on average than any NBA player

Houston Rockets analyst Ed Kupfer released an awesome visual on Tuesday that illustrates the average distance of field goal attempts by all NBA players who have taken at least 100 shots this season.

While there's countless items that can be taken away from the graph below, let's focus on Steve Novak, whose name you'll see in a category of its own in the top left corner.

If there's a three-point specialist in the NBA, it's clearly Novak. Not only is the average distance of his field goal attempts considerably further than any other player, but he's taken more than five times as many three-pointers as two-point shots (104 threes to only 19 twos).

Although Novak is shooting a respectable 40.7 percent from beyond the arc, it's his worst three-point percentage since his 2009-10 season with the Los Angeles Clippers.
