With just over 24 hours remaining until the close of NHL trading, it appears that the Philadelphia Flyers have joined the fray in bidding for the services of Vancouver Canucks centerman Ryan Kesler.

According to a report from the Philadelphia Daily News' Frank Seravalli, the Flyers tabled "a substantial offer" for the U.S. Olympian and also inquired about the possibility of acquiring defenseman Alex Edler in a larger trade.

There's some speculation that the Flyers may be expressing interest in Kesler so as to increase his ultimate price should their interstate rival the Penguins win the bidding. The Penguins, however, reportedly believe that Philadelphia is their top competition in the Kesler market.

The Flyers are reportedly among the teams that Ryan Kesler - who has a full no-trade clause - would accept a trade too. Kesler isn't interested in remaining in a Canadian market, and will not waive his NTC to join the Columbus Blue Jackets.
