PHOTO: Tigers' Joba Chamberlain has a beard, is excited about it
Joba Chamberlain, now a Detroit Tiger after signing a one-year deal worth a reported $2.5 million last month, is excited about the upcoming season.
And understandably so.
Getting a fresh start with a new team - after a rash of injuries - should be more than enough to bring a smile to the face of the former New York Yankee.
But being able to finally grow a legitimate beard, now that's what it's all about.

Robinson Cano went with the same look immediately after leaving the Yankees in favor of signing with the Seattle Mariners.
The moral of the story is simple: professional athletes like growing beards.
Someone might want to tell this to the Yankees.
