Look: Trump's Patriots group drastically smaller than Obama's

Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports

It was no surprise that player attendance for the New England Patriots' trip to the White House would be lower Wednesday than it was two years ago, but the visual evidence shows an even greater contrast than expected.

The Patriots claim the photo is a misrepresentation of their attendance, stating that over 40 staff members were on the stairs in 2015 and that some staff had sat on the lawn on Wednesday.

However, only 34 of 68 ended up taking the invitation to meet Donald Trump and tour his new house. Six of the more prominent Patriots players announced they'd skip the team trip in February.
