The Cleveland Cavaliers now have an open roster spot to work with following the release of guard DeAndre Liggins on Sunday.

One player the reigning NBA champions are reportedly considering to fill it is Brazilian big man Anderson Varejao, according to Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon.

Varejao, 34, played the first 12 seasons of his career with the Cavaliers after going 30th overall to the Orlando Magic - who traded him to Cleveland before the start of the season - in 2004.

Prior to the trade deadline in 2015-16, the Cavs moved Varejao to the Portland Trail Blazers. He was released shortly thereafter, and picked up by the Golden State Warriors, who waived him in February of this year.

He last took the floor on Feb. 2 in a game at Staples Center against the Los Angeles Clippers, grabbing two rebounds and picking up three personal fouls in eight minutes for the second unit.

Varejao's tenure in the Association has been largely defined by a storied injury history, which includes a torn Achilles, a blood clot in his lung, and a broken right wrist.

In 627 total games, the near 7-footer has averaged 7.3 points and 7.2 rebounds on 51 percent shooting.

Whoever Cleveland elects to go with, though, would need to sign by Wednesday in order to be allowed to compete in the playoffs.
