What the press couldn't get out of the New York State Athletic Commission, they sought in Daniel Cormier.

The light heavyweight champ needed to weigh in twice to hit the 205-pound mark for Saturday's title defense against Anthony Johnson at the official weigh-ins for UFC 210 on Friday, and can be clearly seen holding on to the towel held before him on his second attempt.

With the NYSAC content with the proceedings and many suspecting he pushed onto the towel to shed the extra 1.2 pounds, Cormier attempted to clear the air after Friday's ceremonial weigh-ins, claiming he was unaware the scale could be tampered with by pushing onto the towel, and insisting he was merely trying to shield his privates from those in attendance.

"What does that do? I don't understand," Cormier told the media. "It's not something I've done before. No, I just wanted to make sure I didn't show my junk."

Cormier meets Johnson in a rematch on the card's headliner at Buffalo's KeyBank Center.
