Mariners to offer toasted grasshoppers at Safeco
When the Seattle Mariners open the doors to Safeco Field for the season opener on April 10, fans will find an interesting snack available for purchase.
The Mariners, in partnership with their concessionaire, Centerplate, will offer toasted grasshoppers, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.

Fans will be able to buy a cup filled with grasshoppers tossed in chili lime salt from Mexican restaurant Poquitos for $4.
"They are a one-of-a-kind snack that the fans will really love - either on a taco or on their own," said Steve Dominguez, Centerplate concession stands general manager at Safeco. "It's a testament to our relationship with the Mariners to be bold and creative with bringing in new local partners that really embody the Seattle culinary scene."
The Mariners aren't expecting to break the bank by selling the high-protein snack, but it should offer fans something interesting to chew on and discuss with their peers while watching Robinson Cano and Felix Hernandez lead their team on the field.
"We don't expect to sell a lot of them, but it's a fun thing to offer and it's an authentic," Mariners spokesperson Rebecca Hale told Rovell.
