Report: Lonzo Ball hires agent, files papers for NBA draft
Lonzo Ball is one step closer to making his NBA dream a reality.
The now-former UCLA Bruins guard has hired representation, as well as filed the necessary paperwork to enter the 2017 draft, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.
Ball signed with Harrison Gaines, who will have the 19-year-old as his first NBA client. Gaines will be responsible for Ball's contracts while working under the Ball Sports Group, which the Ball family recently launched.
Ball announced his intention to head to the NBA shortly after the Bruins were bounced from the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA tournament by Kentucky, 86-75.
He averaged 14.3 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.7 rebounds during the tournament, while setting a single-season collegiate record with 274 dimes during the campaign.
Ball is projected to be a top-three pick, vying for the top spot with the likes of Washington's Markelle Fultz and Kansas' Josh Jackson.
