Listen: LaVar Ball not convinced LeBron James Jr. will succeed in NBA
LeBron James Jr. looks to be following in his father's footsteps, with numerous highlight tapes showing his skills and scholarship offers reportedly already rolling in from Duke and Kentucky.
However, LaVar Ball has his doubts about whether the 12-year-old will achieve the same kind of success as LeBron James at the NBA level, and explained why on FOX Sports NBA insider Chris Broussard's podcast.
"Here's the thing, you gotta play the odds and the percentages," Ball said. "Been a lot of great players, and all their sons are whack. Kareem got a son - no. Jordan had sons. Shaq got sons."
"... You got LeBron. It's going to be very hard for his kids, 'cause they're not gonna look at them like LeBron's kids, they're gonna be like, 'you better be just like your dad.' And then after a while that pressure starts sitting on you like, 'why do I gotta be like him, why can't I just be me?' And then they be like, 'oh, you soft, you're not that good.' Because the expectation is very, very high."
