For those concerned about Eddie Lacy's battles with the scale, his new head coach has no such concerns.

Shortly after the Seattle Seahawks signed the free-agent running back to a reported one-year, $5.55-million deal, Pete Carroll went on Seattle radio to share his ideal vision of Lacy.

"I want him big," Carroll said, according to Sheil Kapadia of ESPN.

Lacy previously played at around 235 pounds, but he was reported to have weighed in at 267 pounds at a recent free-agent visit.

Carroll said the team will make a "concerted effort" to keep Lacy in shape and has added clauses into his contract as a measure. He added that 235 pounds is not a reasonable playing weight for the new signee. Instead, he expects the four-year pro to play in the 240- to 250-pound range.

Lacy played in just five games last year before suffering a left ankle injury that affected a ligament and required the addition of a plate.
