The Michigan basketball team made it into the air Thursday morning and safely landed in Washington to play in their opening game of the Big Ten conference tournament.

Michigan was forced to leave at 7:30 a.m. ET Thursday morning, after their plane aborted takeoff due to high winds on Wednesday, which saw the aircraft slide off of the runway.

The team landed just before 9:00 a.m. and will play Illinois at 12:00 p.m.

A team manager captured the aftermath of where the plane ended up.
