Report: Redskins' Murphy facing 4-game suspension for PEDs
Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports
Washington Redskins linebacker Trent Murphy is facing a four-game suspension due to his use of performance enhancing drugs, according to Master Tesfatsion of The Washington Post.
Murphy has appealed the suspension.
The 26-year-old is coming off a breakout season where he recorded 47 tackles, nine sacks, and three forced fumbles, playing in all 16 games.
It's possible the Redskins use their first-round pick on an edge rusher with Murphy facing a suspension. Murphy ranked second on the Redskins in sacks behind Ryan Kerrigan and it would be a deflating blow to their pass rush if his appeal is unsuccessful.
