Red Wings trade Ott to Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens acquired forward Steve Ott from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a sixth-round pick in 2018, the team announced late Tuesday night.
Ott, 34, appeared in 42 games with the Red Wings this season, recording six points and 63 penalty minutes.

The veteran is a pending unrestricted free agent and carries a $800,000 cap hit.
