Devils' Quincey anticipating trade after being removed from lineup

Ed Mulholland / USA Today Sports

Nothing is imminent, but Kyle Quincey appears to be bracing for a move.

The New Jersey Devils defenseman will be held out of the lineup for Monday's game against Montreal, and is talking like a player who knows general manager Ray Shero is looking to trade him prior to Wednesday's 3 p.m. ET deadline.

As mentioned, he has been down this road before. Prior to the 2012 trade deadline, Quincey - who's set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 - was traded by Colorado to Tampa Bay, and was immediately flipped to Detroit, the club that drafted him in 2003.

In 53 games with the Devils after signing a one-year deal last summer, Quincey has recorded four goals and eight assists.
