Scoggins calls out 'Mighty Mouse': 'Get some karate in your life'
A fighter getting a title shot after an L is about as rare as a unicorn sighting, but that isn't stopping Justin Scoggins from taking a stab at it.
After a challenge to contender Henry Cejudo fell on deaf ears, Scoggins reached a rung higher on the flyweight ladder and called out reigning champion Demetrious Johnson. The 24-year-old went as far as claiming the matchup would prove mutually beneficial, with Scoggins getting his first shot at UFC gold, and Johnson a crash course in karate.
Having failed to make the 126-pound limit for an ill-fated date with Ian McCall, then tapping to Pedro Munhoz in his bantamweight debut, odds are Scoggins' moxie won't be rewarded with a shot at the indomitable Johnson.
Somewhere, an MMA purist is telling the South Carolina native to take a number.
