Watch: NC State's Gottfried booed during pregame introductions

If NC State does decide to fire Mark Gottfried, it appears fans won't be too broken up about it.

The Wolfpack head coach was greeted with a chorus of boos prior to Wednesday's game versus North Carolina. A report surfaced Tuesday that Gottfried could be on his way out of NC State after the team has stumbled to a 3-11 mark in conference play.

With one of the more talented freshmen in the country in Dennis Smith Jr. at Gottfried's disposal, expectations of a tournament berth were no doubt on the minds of NC State brass heading into 2016-17.

Things didn't get any better for Gottfried later on in the evening, as he was handed another convincing defeat by in-state rival North Carolina.
