What is and what isn't a penalty is subjective. It's open to interpretation.
On Tuesday night, what Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Matt Hunwick did to Jason Chimera above was apparently a hooking infraction, or interference, who knows, and worthy of a penalty shot call. You may disagree. But maybe that's why you're not an NHL referee.
Anyway, Chimera wasn't about to let his good fortune go to waste. He wired a wicked wrist shot upstairs past Frederik Andersen to score his 14th of the season.
