Step aside, Chris Johnson

Washington's John Ross said his goal was to run under 4.3 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He did that and a lot more.

Ross was officially timed at 4.22 seconds on his first run, breaking Chris Johnson's long-standing combine record of 4.24 seconds.

Peppers calls himself a safety

NFL scouts and analysts aren't really sure what position Jabrill Peppers will play at the next level, but he clarified how he views himself - he's a safety.

Peppers will work out with both the linebackers on Sunday and defensive backs on Monday, and says that while he sees himself at safety, he'll do whatever is asked of him.

Tight ends light it up

Led by the likes of O.J. Howard and Evan Engram, the tight ends continued their impressive combine week by posting some jaw-dropping times in the 40-yard dash and some lengthy broad jumps.

Garrett says he's the top player in draft

The consensus opinion throughout the pre-draft process has been that Myles Garrett is the most talented player available. The Texas A&M pass-rusher believes so, too.

McKinley needs surgery after combine

UCLA's Takkarist McKinley is hoping to be the second edge rusher off the board after Garrett, but he'll be competing at a disadvantage this weekend.

McKinley revealed that he will undergo shoulder surgery on Monday after fighting through his injuries in Indianapolis on Sunday. He will be out four-to-six months.

Top QB prospects try to separate

Top quarterback prospects Deshaun Watson, Mitchell Trubisky, DeShone Kizer, and Patrick Mahomes competed in on-field drills Saturday, with each passer showing off impressive athleticism.

Watson and Trubisky set the pace in the 40-yard dash, with the former running it in 4.66 seconds and the latter just behind with a time of 4.67 seconds.

Foster sent home after hospital spat

Top linebacker prospect Reuben Foster was sent home from the combine for reportedly threatening a hospital worker after becoming frustrated while waiting for a medical exam.

Foster later took to Instagram to explain his side of the story and had some of his college teammates come to his defense.
