Report: Redskins president not letting GM McCloughan talk to media
The dysfunction is still alive and well in D.C.
As Scot McCloughan heads into his third offseason as general manager of the Washington Redskins, team president Bruce Allen is "breathing down his neck" and not allowing the GM to speak with media, reports Mike Jones of The Washington Post.
Allen spoke to reporters in place of McCloughan at the Senior Bowl and is reportedly not going to let him do his usual interview session with local reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine as well.
McCloughan's moves in free agency and the draft haven't been overly successful in his first two years with the team, and Allen apparently wants him completely focused on evaluating talent this time around.
Jones also suggests the team feels "uneasy" and "desperate" after botching a shot at the playoffs and there's a real possibility McCloughan, Allen, and head coach Jay Gruden could be fired if the Redskins don't improve in 2017.
