Report: Shanahan briefly lost Super Bowl game plan when reporter mistakenly took his bag
Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan had the scare of the season Monday when he temporarily lost his team's offensive game plan for the Super Bowl, according to Jarrett Bell of USA TODAY Sports.
No, the New England Patriots didn't steal it - though Shanahan might have suspected that considering the Patriots' reputation for doing anything to get an edge.
Instead, Shanahan's backpack, which contained his team's game plan, was nowhere to be found after he finished answering reporters' questions at Super Bowl Opening Night.
Thirty minutes later - which must have felt like an eternity to Shanahan - the bag was returned with contents intact.
It turns out the bag was mistakenly picked up by a reporter in attendance at the event.
"That would have been bad," Shanahan texted to Bell after being reunited with the precious document.
