Watch: Tavares records 500th career point with nifty goal

Upon scoring his second goal of the night on Roberto Luongo and the Florida Panthers, New York Islanders captain John Tavares reached a personal point milestone.

The 500th point was recorded in his 550th career appearance. Tavares capped the hat trick with an empty-net goal, officially giving him a career point-per-game average of 0.91.
