New Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is wasting no time putting his staff together, as he hopes to make former Denver Broncos coach Wade Phillips his defensive coordinator, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
McVay was named the next head coach in Rams history Thursday and Phillips was let go after Gary Kubiak stepped down as Broncos head coach at the close of the season.
McVay represents the youngest head coach in league history while Phillips is one of the more experienced coaches in the NFL, as he's been a pro coach in some capacity since 1976.
Former Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams now holds the same role for the Cleveland Browns.
