Report: Rose absent from Knicks for unspecified reasons
New York Knicks officials could not reach point guard Derrick Rose before tipoff Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
Team officials, Knicks players, and close associates were unclear as to the reason for Rose's absence, even after the game was over.
"Right now we don't have enough information to give you anything," head coach Jeff Hornacek said following the 110-96 loss.
Rose was listed as a starter but did not attend the team's warmup 15 minutes before the game and was subsequently replaced by Brandon Jennings.
The former MVP did not play in the fourth quarter of New York's victory on Friday over the Milwaukee Bucks. Rookie guard Ron Baker closed out the game and Rose was reportedly unhappy. The next night Rose played 24 minutes in a loss to the Indiana Pacers.
