Sanders teases possible NBA return on Instagram
It's been over two years since Larry Sanders last took the floor in an NBA game, suiting up for the Milwaukee Bucks in a seven-point loss to the Charlotte Hornets back on Dec. 23, 2014.
As he hinted Wednesday on his Instagram account, though, Sanders is "gettin' that itch" to return to the hardwood and compete in the Association once again.
The Bucks bought Sanders out of the remainder of his contract in early 2015 after receiving his fourth marijuana-related violation of the league's anti-drug policy. He then elected to walk away from basketball completely after revealing he had entered himself into a program that helps treat anxiety and depression.
He teased his Twitter followers over the summer by suggesting he'd be returning to either the Cleveland Cavaliers or Golden State Warriors, although that never came to fruition. It was, at the very least, a sign that Sanders' was finding stability in his life and with his off-court passions, as he told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania that he wouldn't even consider a return until he had all of his ducks in a row.
Milwaukee is still paying Sanders to this day after using the stretch provision on his deal, paying him $1.8-million per year until 2022.
He averaged 6.5 points on 48 percent shooting, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.8 rejections in 233 career appearances over five seasons with the Bucks.
