Westbrook on MVP: 'I really don't care, honestly'

Russell Westbrook really didn't care about his historic numbers at the end of November, and not much has changed as the Oklahoma City Thunder guard's name is now being brought up in league Most Valuable Player conversations.

When asked Sunday if he felt "hypothetically" someone should win the MVP award if their team doesn't finish in the top two, Westbrook stayed true to his message.

"I don't know. I'm not sure," he said in a video from the Norman Transcript's Fred Katz. "I don't know how the voting goes or anything. I really don't care honestly."

About the award or about the process?

"About none of it," Westbrook said. "A championship has always been the most important goal for me and it always has been."

The point guard tallied 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in Friday's contest - his seventh straight triple-double and 12th on the season. The league as a whole, outside of Westbrook, has just 14 combined.
