Conor McGregor may respect Floyd Mayweather's exploits in the ring, but the feeling doesn't extend to his manager Leonard Ellerbe.

After Ellerbe recently told ESPN the Irishman "would get his ass beat from pillar to post" if he and his client ever laced up the gloves, McGregor issued some typically choice words in retort at a Friday Q&A in Belfast.

"F-ck Floyd's manager. Tell him to come say it to me face," McGregor said, according to MMAFighting's Marc Raimondi. "I've got the boxing license, now Floyd's in the Bahamas. He was just there a minute ago and I get the boxing license and he's gone."

The UFC lightweight king is still under contract with the promotion, which would keep a long entertained meeting with Mayweather - an undefeated four-division champion - from materializing, but that didn't deter McGregor from obtaining a license to box in state of California earlier this week.

"The Notorious" commended Mayweather as a "phenomenal" boxer, but, while Ellerbe insists a fight with the Irishman is the furthest thing from his client's mind, McGregor believes he'd have no shortage of comers to take on and that the marquee matchup's fate lies in Mayweather's hands.

"They're scrambling right now, but that's OK. I'll leave them scrambling. I've got some other boxing opportunities, some potential opponents in mind. Some previous Floyd opponents. I can bring in anyone in the game. We'll see what happens."

"Originally what happened was, Floyd called me out. That's originally what happened. I don't care about Floyd. I don't give a f-ck about Floyd. I don't give a f-ck about Floyd. I don't fear no man under no rule set."

McGregor's teased foray into boxing has also drawn the ire of 43-fight veteran Paulie Malignaggi, who recently promised he'd "knock the beard" off him in the name of the sport.

The Irishman had a familiar rebuttal to the boxer's threat.

"Who the f-ck is that guy? I don't know who the f-ck that is. I don't even know who the f-ck that is, but I'll slap the nose off him if he ever mentions my name again."
