Jeff Fisher can't name Patriots' RBs days before game

On Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams' defense will attempt to stop the three-headed monster in the New England Patriots' backfield, which features running backs LeGarrette Blount, James White, and Dion Lewis.

They may be at a disadvantage, however, because Rams head coach Jeff Fisher doesn't even know who he'll be playing against.

Asked Wednesday for his thoughts on the Patriots' three main runners, Fisher only correctly named Blount, whiffing on White and Lewis.

"Well, they're all different," Fisher said Wednesday, according to Zack Cox of NESN.com. "I have a place in my heart for LeGarrette, because I gave him a start, and I have great respect for him. He's a big back, and he's hard to get down. And as they rotate through, different guys play in different situations, and they do a good job with it. He knows where the ball's going to go, and the guys are very, very disciplined.

"I've been impressed with Brandon and what he's done out of the backfield. You've got to deal with him, in addition to Danny. You've got playmakers all around, so we have to play sound defense."

Brandon? Danny?

Fisher could have been referring to Patriots running back Brandon Bolden, but he's mainly a special teams player, and hasn't touched the ball on offense since Week 4.

Wide receiver Danny Amendola is the only Danny on the Patriots, so that's more of a mystery. Unless he was referring to San Diego Chargers running back Danny Woodhead, who played for New England back in 2013.

Regardless, it's not a good look for Fisher, though it's not his worst running back-related story of the week.
