Conte, Hazard collect monthly Premier League awards

Chelsea has seen two from its ranks collect the respective Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards for October.

Antonio Conte has been bestowed with the coaches' honour - becoming the sixth Blues boss to win the prize - while the return to form of Eden Hazard has also been rewarded.

Over that month, Chelsea recorded four straight wins in the division to vault from eighth to fourth in the Premier League, prompting many fans to review their expectations for the Stamford Bridge outfit after an indifferent beginning to the campaign.

The vast improvement can be directly linked to Conte deploying a 3-4-3 formation, a system he regularly fielded in charge of Siena, Juventus, and Italy, and has notably liberated Hazard, the 2014-15 PFA Player of the Year.

"Thank you for voting for me, see you next month for the same award," Hazard, who scored three goals and claimed on assist over the four matches, told the Premier League website.

He added: "Without my team-mates I am nothing. We did well this month and I hope we can continue like this."

Chelsea began November in a similarly demanding fashion by ravaging Everton before the international break to bag a 5-0 victory, and Conte has no new injury concerns before Sunday's visit to newly promoted Middlesbrough.
