McGregor, White fire back after Mayweather's 'disrespect' claim

More shots have been fired in the ongoing feud between double UFC champion Conor McGregor and retired boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Mayweather told TMZ he didn't see McGregor win the UFC lightweight title with a TKO win over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 on Saturday night, then went on to say McGregor isn't close to being in his league.

"Never compare Conor McGregor to me," Mayweather said. "That's a total disrespect. Once again, I'm an elephant. Elephant don't beef with ants. Elephant is so large he don't even see ants."

McGregor fired back at Mayweather, suggesting he doesn't believe the boxer wasn't aware of his fight and telling Mayweather to "say it to my face."

UFC president Dana White also spoke out in support of McGregor and suggested Mayweather is a boring fighter.

"Conor McGregor ... if he touches you, you go to sleep. Floyd puts people to sleep too, with his fighting style, not with his hands," White told TMZ.

"You know how Floyd knocks people out? When they're not looking. Watch the Victor Ortiz fight."

White praised McGregor, a fighter he's battled in the past over issues like promotional appearances and compensation for fights.

"This kid's just getting started. This kid's 28 years old. Floyd can say what he wants about Conor, but even other fighters have to respect him. He's special. Floyd's never even come close to doing to other fighters what Conor does."
