In the third quarter Tuesday night, Dennis Schroder and Kyrie Irving engaged in a basketball thought experiment.
Schroder's Layup was on its way through the hoop. But Irving, who Schroder had just burned off the bounce, had followed the play, and timed his leap so perfectly he had a chance to knock the ball away before it reached its destination. For a moment, as the two were suspended in midair, the layup was simultaneously a bucket and a non-bucket.
Then Irving swatted that sucker into the seats.
