UFC to return to Houston on Super Bowl weekend

The UFC will be following the NFL to Houston early next year.

The promotion announced Sunday it would be returning to the city's Toyota Center on Saturday, Feb. 4, a day before the NFL's conference champions hit the gridiron at Super Bowl LI. The UFC Fight Night will be broadcast on FOX Sports 1, MMAjunkie's Dann Stupp reports.

Fights will be announced in the coming weeks, with tickets going on sale Dec. 16. The promotion last visited Houston in October 2015 for UFC 192, where Daniel Cormier successfully, albeit narrowly, defended the light heavyweight title against Alexander Gustafsson by split decision.
