Report: Josh Gordon released from rehab facility
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been released from a New Hampshire rehab facility after a month of treatment, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
A reported "slip up" relating to the NFL's substance abuse policy resulted in Gordon electing to seek help in late September, just days before his most recent suspension was set to conclude.
Schefter's report cites a source indicating that the young wideout is doing "a lot better" after his most intensive treatment yet, and his playing status will now be left up to the NFL and the Browns.
Though Gordon will again pursue reinstatement, it remains unclear whether the setback will impact his chances of receiving clearance to return this season or at any point in the near future.
And with the Browns publicly stating they intend to part ways, any such opportunity he receives would likely have to come as a result of a trade or being released to the open market.
The mere possibility that he recaptures the form that saw him rack up 87 receptions for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns back in 2013 would, of course, have a number of teams interested in the event he becomes available.
