Minnesota's Djam, Johnson could miss game vs. Rutgers due to restraining order

Allegations pertaining to an early September incident involving Minnesota running back Carlton Djam and defensive lineman Tamarion Johnson could make the pair unable to compete in this week's home game versus Rutgers.

The names of both Djam and Johnson were included in a restraining order filed by a student who works at TCF Bank Stadium during Gophers home games, according to A.J. Perez of USA TODAY Sports. The alleged incident occurred on Sept. 2, which led to four Minnesota players being suspended, although the Hennepin County attorney's office chose not to press charges on Oct. 4.

Lee Hutton, attorney for both Djam and Johnson, is seeking to have the restraining order amended so that both his clients can be available for the game.

"We are asking the judge to change the stipulation that includes the stadium," Hutton told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday. "This arose out of accusations that were later found to be not true and they weren't charged. This is a gross misuse of judicial recourses."

University of Minnesota spokesperson Evan Lapinska also issued a statement Thursday to Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press, confirming that the school will comply with court orders, but will not comment on the matter at this time.

Djam, a sophomore running back, registered 33 rushing yards on seven carries in his only appearance this season against Indiana State on Sept. 10, while Johnson, a freshman defensive tackle, has yet to appear in a game.
