Oh my.
It took Auston Matthews two periods to find his way into hockey's record books.
Matthews became the first player in history to score four goals in his NHL debut when he finished off a beautiful pass by William Nylander late in the second frame. Four goals, on six shots, in 15 shifts and 11:10 in ice time. Welcome to the show.
The Ottawa Senators, though, ended up defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-4 in overtime. Kyle Turris scored the winner.
