LSU AD: 'We are going to have a home game on Nov. 19'

Unless Florida is willing to give up its home game and head to Baton Rouge to face LSU, don't expect the schools to makeup Saturday's postponed game on Nov. 19.

Tigers athletic director Joe Alleva met with the media on Monday and was defiant in his stance that the school would not give up the Nov. 19th home game against South Alabama to play the postponed SEC contest in Gainesville.

"One thing that we are going to hold very firm on is, we have a home game November 19th, and we are going to have a home game on Nov. 19," Alleva said to reporters. "We are not going to change that situation."

The Gators are also scheduled to play a non-conference game versus Presbyterian on Nov. 19, but the common thought was the schools could buy out of those contests and play the SEC matchup. Clearly that is not something Alleva is willing to do.

Another option addressed by Alleva was the possibility of LSU playing a game on its bye week ahead of the school's matchup with Alabama. That's something the athletic director said would only happen with stipulations.

"We have an open date before the Alabama game, I'm not in favor of playing a game that day unless Alabama also plays a game on that day," he said. "I think it's going to be very difficult to reschedule this game."

LSU faces Southern Miss on Oct. 15 in coach Ed Orgeron's second game in command.
