Entwistle out of UFC 204 with illness, opponent Font gets show money
Saturday's UFC 204 card in Manchester, England will be without one of its homegrown talents.
Ian Entwistle has bowed out of his bantamweight bout with Rob Font due to illness, and the fight has been scratched, the promotion tweeted Friday morning. The Brit later took to Instagram, explaining the weight cut had him drifting in and out of consciousness, ultimately landing him in the hospital with a kidney "problem."
Font made weight, tipping the scales at 134 pounds, and will be paid his show money, according to MMAjunkie's Mike Bohn. A lightweight bout between Lukasz Sajewski and Marc Diakiese has reportedly been bumped up from the Fight Pass to the FOX Sports 1 prelims as a replacement.
Entwistle last fought in April, losing to Alejandro Perez by first-round TKO.
