Beckham: I'm 'not having fun' playing football anymore
The negative attention appears to have gotten to Odell Beckham Jr.
After a tremendously disappointing Monday night performance against the Minnesota Vikings, Beckham said Tuesday he's "not having fun anymore" playing football, according to ESPN's Anita Marks.
The New York Giants receiver's image and on-field production have taken such a hit it's affecting his love for the game.
"Football is my sanctuary," Beckham said. "It's where I go to escape. It's where I'm most happy. I'm not having fun anymore."
Beckham's emotions got the best of him Monday after he took a questionable late hit from cornerback Xavier Rhodes that caused him to charge the Vikings defender and earn an unsportsmanlike penalty.
His 23 yards Monday were the fewest he's recorded in a game in his short career. He's on pace for his worst season, which he's obviously not pleased about.
"What I'm communicating, we're not doing," said Beckham about his opportunities. "I'm not getting the opportunities to contribute, and that's frustrating to me."
Beckham didn't receive much support from quarterback Eli Manning following the loss, as he said his number one receiver has brought the negative attention "on himself, and he's got to realize that."
