Tyson Fury announces retirement from boxing with expletive-laced tweet

Reuters

Reigning world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury announced his intention to retire from boxing in prototypical Tyson Fury fashion on Monday, with the controversial Englishman unleashing a profane tweet to break the news.

The announcement comes just days after Fury reportedly tested positive for cocaine, which would likely have seen him stripped of the WBA, IBF, and WBO titles he captured last November by defeating Wladimir Klitschko.

Fury, 28, had been slated for a rematch with the younger Klitschko brother on Oct. 29, but pulled out of the proposed bout after his camp deemed him "medically unfit" to fight.
